Say the text with the rhythm (or sing the song with the lyrics), inviting the children to move around the space, first freely and then carrying out the actions mentioned in the text (dancing, singing and playing).
Repeat as many times as necessary and with each repetition, as in a game, each child suggests a new action that everyone then carries out, while the teacher sings the melody, without text (this could be another way of introducing melody).
The children play the rhythm of the song with body beats and/or percussion instruments.
After learning the song, the children sing the song with the audio version "Melody and accompaniment".
During the two instrumental interludes, the children can improvise movements, taking advantage of the suggestion of the piano's perpetual downward motion effect (in the first interlude) or rhythms with body beats (in the second interlude).
Listen to Ana Sofia Sequeira's arrangement included in the book/CD ‘Cantar Juntos 1’, APAR, 2007.
Talk to the children about the characteristics of the different arrangements, what they liked best, what they found and discovered different.
